Peter Frost was for many years one of the best known writers and broadcasters in the camping and outdoor leisure field. For twelve years he edited the biggest circulation monthly camping and caravanning publication in the world. He is also author of the definitive Haynes Camping Manual and was responsible along with TV’s Julia Bradbury for Julia’s New to Camping website. In 2006 he retired as Director of Communications at the half a million strong Camping and Caravanning Club – an organisation that has been fighting for access to the countryside for more than a century. Today he continues to tour Britain and the world. With his wife Ann he has camped in more than forty countries across the globe. He continues to travel widely and to write about his adventures. For ten years Peter was the Secretary of State’s representative on the Broads Authority helping to run one of Britain’s wonderful National Parks, the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads. He also writes on boats and on politics, working class history, the environment and on food and drink as well as many more obscure subjects for the staunchly left-wing daily the Morning Star. His latest book is about the politics of Marilyn Monroe. This blog contains a wide range of his writings.
